An excellent opportunity has arisen for experienced Buyer to join one of the worlds' most successful manufacturers of equipment to the Food, Pharma, Chemical and Engineering sectors. Established for over 100 years, this is an exciting time to be joining the organisation and this role will offer a permanent contract, autonomy and genuine prospects for progression.
To be successful in this role you will need previous experience within a procurement environment

37.5 Hours per week (Monday to Friday)
DUTIES INVOLVED IN THIS VACANCY:
Place purchase orders using daily MRP notifications to meet production needs
Expedite order confirmations in order to ensure timely receipt of goods
Identify cost reduction potential for plant managed suppliers
Develop relationships with suppliers to ensure targets are met
Maintain and develop appropriate Kanban/Call-off systems to support production levels
Offer support to Quality, Finance and Inventory Control departments
Any other reasonable duties as requested
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATES FOR THIS VACANCY:
Previous experience in a similar role, ideally from within a manufacturing environment
A good standard of education ideally with a purchasing qualification
IT literate with excellent knowledge of MS Office. ERP/MRP experience would be desirable
Basic knowledge of production methods, materials, engineering drawings etc. would be useful
