Job Description

Freight Manager to join a leading supply chain company based near Ramsgate, Kent. This role requires flexibility to work a 40 hour standard working week between the hours of 8am to 6pm with shifts subject to change. The Freight Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating all export and import shipments whilst working to ISO standards, ensuring all department KPIs are met and customer satisfaction is maintained at all times. This is a temporary to permament position with a view to go permanent paying £29,000 per annum. Immediate start available for the right candidate and an opportunity to progress within this successful company.

The Job Role:

- Managing and overseeing all imports and exports whilst ensuring company standards and customer expectations are met at all times

- Managing a team of direct and indirect reports

- Ensuring KPIs are met and ISO standards are followed

- Ensuring continuous improvement projects are completed with the supervisory team

- Maintaining customer contact and assisting the business development team where needed

The Candidate:

- Candidates must be able to evidence successful experience within the logistics field and have specific experience in ocean freight

- Candidates must have managerial or supervisory experience leading a successful freight operation

- Experience of working in manufacturing would be a distinct advantage

- Must have strong people skills and be able to work well under pressure

- Experience in rates negotiations and business development would also be advantageous

- Must have strong working knowledge of current ISO standards

- Candidates must have a strong work ethic and be looking for career progression
