Job Description

MACHINE OPERATIVES to join the extrusion department of a large manufacturing company in Desborough. Paying up to £370 per week working on a 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off continental shift pattern.

Candidates must have experience working in busy factory or warehouse environments and ideally have previous experience with extrusion machines. This role involves intense manual labour, so candidates be willing to undertake heavy lifting and hard labour on a regular basis. Candidates must be willing to learn all aspects of setting and maintaining extrusion machines and have the ability to work efficiently on their own initiative.

*12 hour shifts working BOTH days and nights on a 4 on, 4 off basis
*Candidates must be willing to commit to this shift pattern
*Shifts will include weekend work


*Due to the shift start times, own reliable transport is an essential requirement as public transport cannot be relied upon for travelling to and from work
*Operators will be required to lift items weighing up to and above 25kg on a regular basis, so ability to undertake heavy lifting is essential
*Although full training will be provided, some previous knowledge of extrusion processes would be advantageous
*Candidates must be confident in the use of machinery and willing to learn how to operate, set and maintain multiple machines
*Must have a strong work ethic and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team


*Day to day setting, operation and maintenance of the extrusion machines and general manufacturing area
*Feeding and changing polythene rolls within the extrusion machines
*Lifting and moving polythene rolls and 25kg bags of raw material
*Following job specification sheets with accuracy and ensuring compliance to customer requirements
*Quality checking own work during and after production and reporting any quality issues
*Filing production paperwork
*General factory duties such as housekeeping and strapping pallets
