Job Description

MANUFACTURING MANAGER

We are recruiting a Manufacturing Manager for one of the UK's leading manufacturers of electrical, mechanical and scientific equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation that are enjoying continued and sustained growth. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will enjoy great autonomy on this role together with genuine prospects for progression.

BENEFITS:

Circa £45,000 to £50,000 per annum depending upon experience

WORKING HOURS:

37 hours per week Monday to Thursday (08.00 to 16.30) Friday (08.00 to 13.00)


DUTIES INVOLVED IN THIS VACANCY:


Take responsibility for developing, implementing and maintaining a manufacturing strategy

Manage the Fabrication, Machining, Assembly, Purchasing, Stores and Production Engineering functions

Continuously review the factory layout recommending appropriate changes

Identify, implement and maintain a policy for component stocking

Implement initiatives to improve quality and reduce factory lead times

Manage the associated budgets within the manufacturing department to ensure resource levels, overheads and overtime are balanced and maintained

Promote and develop a culture of process ownership throughout the manufacturing area


OUR IDEAL CANDIDATES FOR THIS VACANCY:


Ideally qualifies to HND (or above) in an engineering or technical discipline

Have enjoyed a successful and progressive career within manufacturing or production engineering

Proven leadership skills and commercially astute

Knowledge of ERP/MRP system functionally and requirements is desirable

Proven ability to meet targets and deadlines, achieve budgets and develop innovative solutions
