An exciting opportunity exists or a Production Engineer within a leading manufacturing company based in Rotherham.
Basic Salary of up to £35,000 per annum

The production engineer will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls.
DUTIES INVOLVED IN THIS VACANCY:
*Supports the Operations Manager in developing and collecting data to measure the effectiveness of processes.
*Carries out process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training.
*Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
*Prepares and presents plans for the above and coordinate deployment including training of team members.
*Assists the General Manager and Operations Manager in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training.
*Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
*Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
*Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
*Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
*Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
*Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams
*Drive initiatives across the operation that delivers Manufacturing Excellence and a continuous improvement culture while improving operational systems, policies, procedures and standards.
*Documents current production procedures and creates Company standards to improve the efficiency of the Production Department.
*Knowledge of engineering and technology principles and practices, tools and machines
*Knowledge of practical application of quality systems accreditation and standards
*Familiarity with gathering and analysing production, quality and maintenance data
*Strong organizational and skills. Experience in running Improvement projects in production and administration
*Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
*Ideally a graduate engineer who understands good manufacturing practice and has experience of automation, machine tools,
*Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent is preferred
*LEAN / Six Sigma trained - certification preferred (Black Belt)
