Job Description

We are urgently recruiting for a Production Manager on behalf of one of the UK's most successful manufacturers of high end furniture. Established for nearly 100 years, this is an exciting time to be joining the organisation and this role will offer a permanent contract, autonomy and genuine prospects for progression.

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to motivate a team, be organised and flexible with the ability to review and solve problems as well as communicating effectively at all levels.


Salary of circa £45,000 per annum
28 days holiday (including statutory days)

08.00 to 16.00 (Monday to Friday)


Oversee all shift related activities over two sites
Assessment and adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental standards
Manage resources within your given area to optimise performance and productivity
Ensure effective communication to other shift leaders and conduct departmental meetings, ensuring communication boards are up to date
Provide positive, timely response to requests for information in order to satisfy customer needs
Strive for continuous improvement by initiating and supporting continuous improvement events


Previous experience within a manufacturing/production environment with supervisory experience
Ideally hold ILM Level 5 Certificate in Management or equivalent
Good understanding of Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental aspects and COSHH aware
Thorough understanding of production processes with the ability to analyse and act upon output data
Knowledge of quality systems and working to quality standards
Demonstrated experience of continuous improvement techniques
Knowledge of Wood, Furniture or POS production desirable but not essential
Ability to demonstrate a positive, proactive and solutions driven approach
Good standard of numeracy and literacy
IT literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
