We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager to join a leading manufacturing company based in Lutterworth.
Basic salary £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
33 days holiday inc. bank holidays
DUTIES INVOLVED IN THIS VACANCY:
*Management and development of the supply chain function covering Master Scheduling, Planning, Purchasing & Distribution. Monitor the success of the department through effective KPIs to show improved effectiveness
*Develop and deliver Planning Systems and Processes through continual improvement of the S&OP process within the business. Governance of the planning cycle which will engage with Key Stakeholders to develop and implement plans to deliver operational excellence
*Liaise with Sales and Customer Service in order to satisfy customer needs and with production staff, to assist with level loading of the plant. Provide excellent customer service with regard to the supply of the right parts, in the correct quantities, at the right time.
*Manage the rationalisation of supplier base and introduce supplier development programmes for key suppliers
*Manage cost down and continuous improvement programmes in purchasing organisation including make or buy and non-production items
*Actively develop the use of tendering processes to locate and secure the best possible sources of supply
*Actively promote world class purchasing standards and techniques for the business with a focus on continuous improvement
*Control inventory levels throughout the business. Management of inventories in line with business plan with minimising obsolete inventory through the control of build vs. demand
*Drive talent development strategies including Succession Planning, Performance and career development processes
*Participate in the site safety committee & ensure that Health & Safety requirements are implemented and followed
*Ensure team briefs, appraisals, holiday planning and RTWI are provided to direct reports in the appropriate timely manner that is required
*People management and leadership
*Extensive experience in both purchasing and supply chain
*Sales & Operations Planning experience
*Ability to think strategically with an innovative approach to problem solving
*Expertise with ERP, MRP systems preferably SAP
*Customer Service focussed attitude
*Proven analytical & problem solving skills
*Computer literate with advanced excel skills
*Highly numerate & methodical
*Experience in development, deployment and delivery of KPI in line with business goals
*Knowledge and implementation of risk management
*Understanding of commercial terms
